The Camera Eye

My name is Scott Munro and I'm a journalist living and working in Scotland. I have a passion for video games, baseball and photography and thought I would share my pictures with the world. Most were taken on iPhone, although a large selection were shot on my Nikon D40. I hope you enjoy the blog.

Took this as the sun was just behind the clouds last week. I used the Olloclip fisheye lens to bend the image. Enhanced the blue after the shot was taken.

This was one of the first pictures I took on my iPhone while walking to work one morning. The light is on a bridge in Glasgow and I loved that plants had started to take over the iron work.

Took this on a cloudy day in Glasgow’s west end. Again, it was taken on Instagram and I reduced the colour using the in-app filters.

Another photo from Amsterdam, this time the escalator down to the train line at Schiphol Airport. I loved the chrome around the stairwell which bounced light and reflections across the passage. I took a few trips up and down the escalator and snapped this on iPhone while no one else was on either track - not easy in a busy airport!

I saw this cheese shop near Amsterdam’s flower market and took the picture on the pavement looking down into the shop. I later altered the saturation and added tilt-shift to give it a miniature effect.

I took this as I was flying into Amsterdam in 2011. The scene below turned out well, although it wasn’t until I added a tilt-shift effect that the picture came to life. I was incredibly lucky to capture various elements in the shot and I’m very happy with the way it turned out.

While on holiday in Italy a few years ago, I snapped this archway while exploring the town of Cortona, in Tuscany. It was shot with a Nikon D40 and I fiddled around with the contrast and saturation at a later date to achieve the final result.

Just a scattering of leaves on the pavement on an Autumn day in Glasgow. The photo was taken on iPhone and published through Instagram. I also enhanced the saturation to bring out the colours.

While waiting at the train station in Amsterdam to take me back to Schiphol Airport, I glanced up snapped this shot. In itself, the roof is nothing special, but I liked the lines, angles and curves overhead.
